Carol Ann (Dolly) Deatrick

Carol Ann (Dolly) Deatrick, 72, of Gap, passed away on Thursday, June 30th, 2022 under the care of Brandywine Hall.  She was the widow of the late Thomas E. Deatrick, with whom she shared 43 years of marriage.  

Born in Boliver, Pa., Carol was the daughter of the late Alice (Robinson) and Ben Garland.  

Carol was an avid reader, often reading a couple of books a day.  She enjoyed mysteries, Stephen King, and romance novels.  She was always drinking Red Rose Tea.  For 30 years, Carol enjoyed family vacations at Chincoteague, Virginia.  Carol like going to yard sales, fishing, quilting, refinishing antique furniture, eating chips and dip, cottage cheese and peaches, and any kind of candy.  Carol absolutely disliked spiders but loved dogs. 

Carol is survived by three children: Thomas Elwood Lawrence, Fiance of Erin Skiles, of Gap, Heather Mae Gordon of Tennessee, and Dana Louise Book, wife of Eric, of Mechanicsburg, Pa., nine grandchildren, and eleven great-grandchildren.  In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by her son, Brian Mitchell, a Grandson Dillon Root and her brother, Donald Garland.

A memorial service will be held at the convenience of the family.
