Carolyn Elizabeth Meyers Orem

Carolyn Elizabeth Meyers Orem, 71 of Exton died peacefully on March 11th 2009 surrounded by her loving family and beloved cat "Max".

She was wife to the late William Spencer Orem Sr. and daughter of the late Marguerite Elizabeth Biery Meyers and Benjamin Franklin Meyers Sr.

Carolyn enjoyed a long career as a registered nurse helping those in need by bestowing on them endless amounts of kindness and humor. She continued her mission of compassion till the age of 70, when sadly, her illness began to wear her down.

She loved the shore and spent many a summer at her family home "Laurel Hall". In recent years she became equally fond of the many adventures she had traveling up and down the east coast with the "Horses". 

Carolyn will be remembered most for her genuine kindness and wonderful sense of humor. Her family misses her deeply but takes great comfort in the lifetime of wonderful memories she has left to them.

Carolyn is survived by her daughter Elizabeth W. and Husband Joseph K. Lerch. Her eldest son William S. Orem Jr. and wife Jessica. Her youngest child and son Matthew B. Orem. Her step grandson Joseph C. Lerch. Her brother Benjamin Meyers and his wife Terri. In addition, she is survived by her loving and devoted companion and wild cat, Max.

The family would like to express their sincere thanks to the staff and doctors at Paoli Memorial Hospital, the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania and the West Chester Neighborhood Hospice for all the wonderful care they gave our mother.

The family will have a private memorial at a later date to spread her "joy" as she has requested.
