William Michael "Mugsy" Mullen, Sr., 56, of Parkesburg, passed away on Wednesday, February 21, 2018 at the Brandywine Hospital after a courageous battle with cancer. He was the beloved husband of Vicky Lynne Mowday Mullen with whom he shared 36 years of marriage. Born in Coatesville, he was the son of Jean E. Wright Mullen of Gap and the late Chester W. Mullen. 

Michael was an area resident all his life. He was employed as a house painter with the Mowday family and Craftsman Painting. 

He is survived, in addition to his wife, by one son William Michael Mullen, Jr. and fiancé Megan Forsythe of Parkesburg, one grandson William Michael Mullen, III, two step children Kerry Hammonds and Tracey Hammonds and one step granddaughter, whom he raised, Kenesha McNutt, six grandchildren, seven great grandchildren and four brothers; Steven Mullen and wife Ashley of New Holland, Tim Mullen of Gap, Donald Mullen and wife Charlotte of Sadsburyville and Scott Mullen of Sadsburyville. 

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday February 28, 2018 at 11:00 AM at the Wilde Funeral Home, 434 Main St. Parkesburg, PA with the Rev. Raymond Leslie officiating followed by interment at the Upper Octorara Cemetery. Visitation Wednesday from 10 to 11:00 AM.

I had the pleasure of seeing Mr. Mullen often, throughout the past year and a half. I really admired his strength, and optimism. What a brave and hard working man, he will truly be missed. Sending Love and Light to all of his family and loved ones.
