Susan Pamela Scheland Hallgren, 66, of East Fallowfield, passed away on Monday, February 13, 2012 at the Brandywine Hospital with family and close friends by her side.

Born in Hatboro, PA on July 29, 1945, she was a beloved wife, mother and grandmother.  Susan was a 1963 graduate of Half Hollow Hills High School in Long Island, NY.  She gained further education in secretarial skills and worked as an Executive Secretary for the president of a major bank in Long Island before becoming a stay-at-home mom.

She was known by all as an incredibly strong, Godly woman who used her life acquired wisdom and biblical knowledge to teach Sunday school and mentor younger women.  In the hours before her passing, she encouraged everyone to "smile" and "be happy", and said her daughter Heather was "her miracle", her son Christian was "her soul", and her husband "her protector, rock, and strength of the family".

Susan spoke with excitement of her impending passing after which she was greeted by her son Jason who passed in April, her parents, 2 brothers, and a graceful Jesus Christ she'd spent 65 years preparing to meet. She said the day before, "They will remember me as a Godly woman, won't they." Not a question, but a statement.

She is survived by her husband, Charles R. Hallgren of East Fallowfield; her son, Christian A. Hallgren of East Fallowfield; her daughter, Heather J. Borror, wife of Kyle, of Peach Bottom; a grandson, Kyle Joseph Borror of Peach Bottom; and sister, Beverly Ridens of Knoxville TN.  There will be an open house at the family's home for a celebration of Susan's life on March 4, 2012.

Family will be receiving guests beginning at 2 p.m. and throughout the day at 118 Cumberland Dr., East Fallowfield, PA 19320. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Hallgren Family Fund #611891 c/o Citadel Federal Credit Union, 135 Modena Road, Coatesville, PA, 19320.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the Wilde Funeral Home of Parkesburg. Online condolences can be posted at www.wildefuneralhome.com.
