Marian Martin Stoner

March 30, 1919 — February 24, 2018

Marian Martin Stoner (98 yrs.) of Lake View Tel Hai, Honey Brook, PA passed away peacefully, on February 24, 2018.

Born in Sadsburyville, she was the daughter of the late Norman Griffith Martin and Edith Cowan Martin. Marian is predeceased by her loving husband Jesse Franklin Stoner and her brothers John “Jack” W. Martin and Thomas Cowan Martin.

She graduated from Scott High School, Coatesville in 1937 and received a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Beaver College (Arcadia University) in 1941. While attending Beaver College she studied fashion design and voice. She also participated in musicals and was captain of the rifle team.

She dedicated her life faithfully to Jesus Christ, her family and was a friend to all who knew her. She was a Chester County Historian, fine artist, vocalist, author, poet, community volunteer, family genealogist, master gardener, and member of Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR). Marian received the 1983 Pennsylvania Mother of the Year award. She especially cherished her years residing at Locust Lane Farm, the family ancestral farm built in 1730, originally a William Penn Land Grant.

Marian is survived by her three children, Tom and Mary Susan of Woolwich, ME, Jon and Ruthann Stoner of Flagstaff, AZ, and Sue and Jeff Spotts of East Fallowfield, PA. Also surviving are six grandchildren and five great-grand children.

A celebration of life will be held at Westminster Church, West Chester, PA at 11:00 AM on March 31, 2018. Visitation for family and friends from 9:00-11:00 AM.
