A. Mae McGuigan, 93, of Pomeroy, passed away on Wednesday, May 11, 2016. She was the wife of the late Norman W. McGuigan who died in 1992. Born in Guthriesville, PA, she was the daughter of the late Moses H. and Alice Jefferis Marshall.
Mae was an area resident all her life and a 1940 graduate of the Downingtown High School. She was employed as a beautician and hairdresser most of life.
Mae was a member of the Pomeroy Methodist Church, the Sadsbury Township Historical Society, Order of the Eastern Star, the Women's Democratic Committee, the DAR and Colonial Dames and the Sadsbury Garden Club. She also served for many years as a Girl Scout Leader in Pomeroy and volunteered with the Pomeroy Fire Co. Ladies Auxiliary.
She is survived by two daughters; Beth A. McGuigan and husband Michael O'Sheehan of West Chester, N. Colleen, wife of Barry Simmons of Parkesburg, and` grandson Dylan Woodward Simmons. She was preceded in death by one daughter Kimberly McGuigan Cullen.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, May 17, 2016 at 11am from the Wilde Funeral Home, 434 Main St. Parkesburg, PA followed by interment at the Upper Octorara Cemetery. Family and friends are also invited to attend the viewing which will be held Monday evening from 6 to 8pm and also Tuesday morning from 10am to the time of the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in her memory to the Sadsbury Township Historical Society, 2920 Lincoln Highway Sadsburyville, PA 19369.

She was a kind and loving person and always spoke about you and your family with love and appreciation. Remember as i was given a saying once for my mom she is not in our presence but now we keep her wherever we are, in our hearts.
