Linda G. Rice

I’m so sad to read this! Linda was the sweetest person ever! I saw her at her house while doing the census a few years back, it was such a nice surprise. Always looked forward to seeing her at the dentist, she made it a joy!

On behalf our family, please accept our warmest condolences. As you know, your mom/wife and my mom were great friends. When Travis and I lost our mom (Brenda Miller Hagen) six years ago, your mom/wife stayed in touch with me, always having something lovely to say and cheering me up with every communication. My mom affectionately called your mom/wife “Linnie” so I continued to do so. I have no doubt that my mom is first in line to welcome “Linnie” into Heaven, so that they may laugh and carry on together once again. May your faith comfort you every time you need it.

If you never met Linda Guiney Rice, then you missed one of the nicest people you will ever meet.  Linda was the same sweet person anywhere you met her and always had a big smile.. .  She loved her family immensely and was always glad to talk about them and their lives as well as your family and their accomplishments.  She will be so missed by all.

So sorry to hear… Linda was my Sunday School teacher at Upper Octorara Presbyterian Church in the 1960’s (or Aunt Linda as the students called her). Thinking of Jack and your family at this time.

My heart goes out to her family., Jack, Lisa and Alan. I grew up with them. She was the nicest person you ever meet. She did a lot with us at church when Lisa and I were in youth group.

  I am so sorry to hear of Linda's passing. My life was touched and made better for having known her.  It has been quite a while since I saw her last, but I am sure if we had run into each other at the grocery store as we often did, the conversation would have picked up like no time had been lost.  She would want to know what I had been up to and was always proud to share the news of her dear family with me.  Linda was just the loveliest person, and she certainly passed that on to Lisa, of whom she was so very proud.  When we would part ways, I always would think to myself how kind she was to remember me and how I wanted to strive to be that type of person.  I am sure she is watching over you and singing with the angels.  May your wonderful memories help to lift you up during the challenging days ahead.  You will be in my thoughts and prayers.

We are so saddened to hear of Lindas passing. We went to Dr. Stuppys and I just loved talking to her. She was such a nice person and just so sweet. The last time I saw her was in Dutchway which was awhile ago. Loved chatting with her. Our thoughts and prayers go out to her children and all her family.May she rest in peace. I was sad to read about Linda's passing.  I knew her from Dr. Stuppy's office and looked forward to her friendly personality whenever I had to go there.  I'm sorry for your loss and I'm sure that she will be sorely missed by many.

I am so sorry for your loss of your mother/grandmother. I remember her when my family and I still went to Penningtonville. She always called me Shroder from Charlie Brown that one Christmas play we had. Linda was known for her great smile. She will be missed by so many of us who loved her. At least she will be up in Heaven with Jesus.

I was so sad to hear of Linda's passing. Our family knew Linda from when we attended Penningtonville Presbyterian Church. Linda was a beautiful pianist and person inside and out. My 2nd oldest son, Brett, who is Autistic, was always very fond of her. Linda called Brett, Schroder (Peanuts) after the kids in Penningtonville's Jr. Choir had done "A Peanut's Christmas" cantata one year and Brett played Schroder. He never forgot that and it still brings a smile or laugh when he thinks about it.

Linda was always a very kind, caring, and loving person and will be missed by so many.

You, Jack and Linda, go back 65 years in my memory and have been two of my oldest and dearest friends. I can’t imagine a trip back to PA without seeing you both and I’m so glad we got to meet for lunch in June. Linda had this uncanny way of making things and people comfortable. She always served those around her without fanfare. Linda loved her family and her Lord from whom I’m sure she has heard a “Well done good and faithful servant.” Even during our lunch in June one would never know all that she was suffering because she was just that same friendly and talkative Linda that we always knew. I’m sure that the good memories will outweigh your grief and that you will all cherish your time with her as I am right now. Linda was and always will be one of God’s true blessings in our lives.

Jack and Family. I was so sad to hear of Linda's passing. I have met many people in my life and I can honestly say that Linda stands out as the most kind, caring and loving person. I knew her from church at Penningtonville and she sang at my wedding. While the world has lost such a genuinely amazing person, heaven has certainly gained an Angel. Jack, Lisa, Alan and all your family my thoughts, prayers and love are with you all at this time.  So many memories are coming to mind right now.  I can’t remember exactly when Jack, Linda and Lisa moved into the other side of our house in Atglen but I know Alan wasn’t born yet.  Years and years of wonderful memories with Linda and all of you.  Too many to list but all wonderful.  When I was planning my wedding she was the person I wanted to sing at it.  She did one song on her own and then she and Lisa did one together.  So many good times in Jr choir with her playing the piano as well.  Rest in peace.

Our hearts weep for you but we know Linda is in a glorious place now. She was always full of genuine JOY: a woman seeking the heart of God in all her actions. Her hugs and conversations made the recipient feel as though they were the most important person alive.                                                                                                                                                                                                 (Don's memory) From the 6th grade play (Rumpelstiltskin) and her interactions with other students to (Helen's memory) mentoring participation in the OHS marching band. The world is a better place because of Linda. 

Linda and I never met face to face but we were connected in our love for her best friend, Sally D'Antonio, Linda and I texted one another over the last several years since Sally's passing and shared memories of our beloved friend and keeping in touch.  Even through text, Linda's kindness and loving nature came through.  I will miss texting with her but I am comforted knowing that Sally and her best friend, Linda, are together again.  Praying for peace and comfort for her family whom she loved so much.

A community is heartbroken on the loss of beautiful Linda. She was one of the nicest person I ever known. From being a kid going to Atglen family dentistry and growing up with Alan during our school years, and finally continuing our friendship through visits to the pharmacy. We always took a moment to chat about things and she always had a smile on her face.  I miss her already❤️

To all the families,  I love Linda. She was and is an inspiration to me with her love of God, church and family (and music!!!). I pray her soul is at peace and victory. Many blessings to all who knew and love her. 

Bill and I were saddened at the loss of your beautiful, Linda.  She was a wonderful person who was so caring and kind.  We both enjoyed talking to her at our OHS Reunions, both Class of ‘65 and Class of ‘67.  
Linda could light up a room with her smile.

Jack & family, so sorry to hear of Linda's passing. Such a great & lovable person. The last time I saw her was in the xray depth out at 10& 30. May she play in heaven for Mom & the choir at Penningtonville church. Hugs & ❤️ forever.

Linda was a light in this world, pleasant, caring and smiling, a joy to be around. I am so thankful that I had a chance to have a long talk with her this past summer at the community picnic. We laughed and talked about the days gone by and reminisced about our shared experiences. She will be missed by all who knew her. Praying for her precious family.

I'm so sorry I couldn't attend Linda's service.  I have only fond memories of Linda.  She and I attended Upper Octorara together along with numerous relatives!  I am saddened by her passing.  She will be missed.
