Harry L. Waters
Harry L. Waters, 96, of West Grove, PA was called home to be with our Lord on April 2, 2021.
Born in Burke County, Morganton, N.C., he was the son of Arthur and Gertrude Nenneman Waters. He served his country for 2 years in the United States Army from 1949 to 1950.
Harry worked for many years at the West Grove Knitting Mill where he met his wife Evelyn. After the mill closed, he continued working for 20 years for the Avon Grove School District maintaining the athletic fields, among other things, until he fully retired at the age of 85.
Harry was a faithful servant of God and a member of the Avon Grove Nazarene Church for many years. He lived his faith every day and could still recite one of his favorite Bible verses, the 23rd Psalm.
He was an avid gardener and blessed many others with the delicious abundance of his large garden. Harry was also a whiz at fixing sewing machines, a dying trade. He was also quite the handyman and was always willing to lend a helping hand to others.
Harry was preceded in death by his wife of 70 years, Evelyn Paisley Waters, and is survived by their 4 children: Elizabeth Spencer and husband Dennis, Mark Waters and wife Michele, Amy Sydenstricker, Colin Waters and wife Dawn.
He will be lovingly remembered by his 10 grandchildren, Eric Spencer, Kevin Spencer, Peter Martelli, Stephanie Wezalis, Christopher Waters, Shelby Sydenstricker, Braden Waters, Nathan Waters, Dylan Waters and Payton Waters, and 3 great-grandchildren, Bryce Spencer, Chase Martelli, and Madison Martelli.
The family would like to thank the wonderful staff at Willow Tree Hospice, Kennett Square, for their invaluable care and support over the last two months.
Family and friends are invited to attend Harry's graveside service at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, April 7th, 2021 at New London Presbyterian Church Cemetery, 1986 Newark Road, Lincoln University, PA 19352.
