Harriet E. Newswanger Cribbs

Harriet E. Newswanger Cribbs, 78, of Christiana, died on Monday, February 13, 2012 at her home. Born in Parkesburg, she was the daughter of the late Harry and Florence Mowrey Newswanger.


Harriet was a life long area resident and a 1951 graduate of the Parkesburg High School. She continued her education at Goldey Beacon College. She was employed by Bell Telephone and later worked as secretary for the Norman Pine Law Offices in Parkesburg.


She is survived by two children; Cynthia, wife of Dale Chesnet and Tim Studd Newswanger and companion Lisa Cacciavillano, all of Christiana and one brother Richard Newswanger of Lancaster.


Funeral services be held on Saturday, February 18, 2012 at 11:00 am from the Wilde Funeral Home, 434 Main St. Parkesburg, PA followed by interment at the Upper Octorara Cemetery, Parkesburg. Family and friends are also invited to attend the viewing at the funeral home from 10 to 11:00 am.

Cindy, Dale, and Timmy- I am saddened by the loss of Harriet known to me as Mom#2. I think back and have so many memories from watching Frosty in Parkesburyg with Timmy all the way to my vist to Florida along with babysitting my 1st grandson Joshie who loved his Harre-tet so much. She will be missed so much. You are all in my thoughts and prayers during this sad time Love ya, Val

I was saddened to hear of the loss of your mother. My mother called me today to let me know as she read it in the local paper.
