Gerald C. Swisher Sr.

Gerald C. Swisher Sr., 84, formerly of Parkesburg, PA, passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 18, 2023, at Phoenixville Center in Phoenixville, PA, just three days before his 85th birthday.  He was the husband of Nancy Barlow Swisher.  Born in Coatesville, PA, he was the son of the late Clyde Swisher and Cornelia Carroll Swisher.

Jerry was employed at Pepperidge Farm in Downingtown for over 33 years.  He also worked at the Plate Washer in Coatesville.  He loved fishing and hunting.  He coached Caln Little League and enjoyed playing adult league softball.

Besides his wife, he is survived by a son, Gerald C. "Bub" Swisher Jr. (Laura) of Coatesville, a daughter, Kerri Stauffer of Coatesville, stepdaughters, Jennifer Myer and Rebecca Escalona, grandchildren, Zachary Swisher, Jeff Samms, Jon Samms, Stephanie Bray, and Samantha Tanderich, stepgrandchildren, Emily Myer, Sophia Myer, Gabrl Myer, Miguel Escalona, Mario Escalona, and Olivia Escalona, 13 great-grandchildren, sisters, Katherine "Minnie" Rice of Coatesville and Amy Hoffman of Strasburg, and many nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by a daughter, Cathy Samms, first wife, Joan Gouldner, brothers, Clyde "Junie" Swisher and Leroy Swisher, and a sister, Shirley Finkey.

Funeral services will be private and at the convenience of the family.
