Frances C. Cowan

Frances C. Cowan, 89, of Honey Brook, formerly of Sadsbury Twp., passed away on Wednesday, December 5th, 2012 at the University of Pennsylvania Hospital in Philadelphia.  She was the widow of Everett C. Cowan, Jr. who passed away in 2004 after they had shared 59 years of marriage together.


 

Born in Coatesville, she was the daughter of the late Paul L. and Eleanor (McKinley) Coates.  

 

An area resident her entire life, she was a graduate of Coatesville High School and attended Goldey-Beacom College for two years.  She had worked at Beloit Printing of Downingtown.  Frances was a member of the Upper Octorara Presbyterian Church of Parkesburg.  She was also involved in the Sadsbury Garden Club.

 

She is survived by her two sons, Everett C. Cowan III, husband of Kris, of Cumberland, R.I., and John C. Cowan, husband of Yvonne, of Marietta, GA and daughter-in-law, Susan Cowan of Parkesburg; three grandchildren and two great grandchildren.  In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by her brother Paul Coates, Jr. 

 

The Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, December 11th, 2012 at 11 AM at the Upper Octorara Church, 1121 Octorara Trail (Rt. 10), Parkesburg, followed by interment in the adjoining cemetery.  The viewing will be held from 10 a.m. until the time of the service.  

 

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Frances' memory to the American Heart Assoc., PO box 163549, Columbus, OH 43216. 

 

Arrangements have been entrusted to the Wilde Funeral Home of Parkesburg.

John, we are so very sorry to hear of your mom's passing. We did not have the pleasure of knowing her; however, knowing you and your ways, she had to be a very special lady.
