Elmer D. King

October 22, 1939 — July 13, 2021

Elmer D. King, 81, of Atglen passed away at his home on Tuesday, July 13, 2021. Born in Reading, Pennsylvania he was the son of the late Elmer King and Elizabeth (Stoltzfus) King Ennis. He was the beloved husband of Dorothy L. (Keller) King with whom he shared 59 years of marriage.

Elmer was employed as an assembly line worker for the Chrysler Corporation of Newark, Delaware, and later served as a supervisor for West Fallowfield Township. He was an active member of Faith Bible Chapel located in Cochranville.

In addition to his wife he is survived by two daughters; Sandra L. (King) Zook and husband Sam of Atglen and Shelley (King) Burbridge of Ocean Pines, MD, six grandchildren; Blake Zook of Atglen, Trent Zook and wife Courtney of Ephrata, Ethan Burbridge of Washington D.C., Aaron, Ryan, and Sean Burbridge of Baltimore, MD, one great-grandchild, Winifred Book. Additionally, he is survived by his siblings; Priscilla Herr of Ephrata, Miriam Stoltzfus of Hicksville, Ohio, Ruth Cavuto of Coatesville, PA, and Darlene Hurst of Huntington, PA. Preceded in death by brothers, Jerry and Lester King, sisters, Anna Mary Yoder and Verna Newswanger and stepfather, John Ennis.

Friends and family are invited to attend a visitation period from 6 to 8 PM on Sunday, July 18, 2021 , taking place at Faith Bible Chapel, 140 Bernard Avenue, Cochranville, PA 19330 .

A Funeral Service will be held at 11 AM on Monday, July 19, 2021 , at Faith Bible Chapel, 140 Bernard Avenue, Cochranville, PA 19330 . There will be a visitation period taking place from 10 AM until the start of the funeral. Interment will directly follow at Glen Run Cemetery in Atglen.
