We sincerly will miss Elmer so very much especially his smile and positive attitude. Mary and I have recently selected our grave site location, at the beautiful St. Malachi cemetary, next to Elmer and Florence. It is comforting to realize that we will still be together forever!!!

I would like to extend my sincere condolences to the Laffey family, especially Elmer's children.  As a tacher in UHS I was happy to know and teach srveral of them.  Elmer was our vet for a long time; we had several large animals and he was always prompt and caring in their treatment.  Rest in Peace, Elmer; you have completed your work and are deserving of the rewards.

Sincerely, Eileen Byrne

With loving memories of a man who lived life as an exclamation, not an explanation. Uncle Elmer was an inspiration to many with his willingness and determination to accept the challenge of becoming a veterinarian at a later age. Thinking of you, his loving family, at this difficult time with comfort knowing that he has reunited with Aunt Florence.  His legacy lives through each of you, no one that is loved is ever lost.

We extend our deepest sympathies to the entire Laffey family for the loss of Uncle Elmer, he was a great wise man.  He taught me so much in my early years as a dairy farmer.  Rest In Peace Uncle Elmer.

When I think of Uncle Ellmer, I am reminded of my grandfather and all his sons.  I remember them as hardworking but with a twinkle in their eyes.  Elmer, while well educated, was never stuffy.  He enjoyed growing goofy gourds to turn into birdhouses and baking scones for St Patrick's Day.  I celebrate him as having given us a great example of how to live a good life.  Care about all living things and always be curious about the world we live in,
