Dennis E. Fox, 72, of Downingtown, passed away on Sunday, January 17, 2010 at the Lancaster County Hospice of Mt. Joy. He was the widower of the late Betty L. McGinnis Fox, who passed in 1996 after they had shared 21 years of marriage together.

Born in Glenmoore, he was the son of the late Geraldine Souden Fox and Webster Fox.

An area resident his entire life, he was a graduate of the Morgantown High School, where he played both baseball and basketball. He served in the 6th Battalion, Co. D. of US Army during the Cuban Missile Crisis.

He was employed by Johnson Matthey of Malvern as a Fabricator, retiring at age 65. He was a member of the Downingtown Moose, Downingtown V.F.W. Post 845, the St. Anthony's Lodge and the Thorndale Fire CO.

He is survived by four children: Cindy L. Davis, wife of Elmer, of Oxford, Dwaine J. Watterson, husband of Marci, of Quarryville, Keith R. Watterson, husband of Sue, of North Carolina, and Tina M. Karg, wife of Chris, of Narvon; 11 grandchildren, six great grandchildren and two brothers, Barry and Skip Fox, both of Florida. He was predeceased by his sister, Audrey Martin.

The Funeral Service will be held on Friday, January 22, 2010 at 11 a.m. at the Wilde Funeral Home, 434 Main St., Parkesburg, followed by interment in the Upper Octorara Cemetery of Parkesburg. Family and friends are invited to attend the viewing, which will be held at the Funeral Home on both Thursday evening from 6 until 8 p.m. and again on Friday morning from 10 until 11 AM.

I know you will be missed Foxy by many. I will never forget you as one of the people that was also such a big Steeler fan. We always had that in common and talked about it for many hrs. at a time. May God bless your family and give them peace in their hearts knowing you are in a better place, with no more pain or suffering.
