Valley Twp.

Dean Blando, of Valley Township, PA, passed away on September 3rd due to complications from open-heart surgery and pneumonia. He was 50 years old.

Dean is survived by his wife Erin Keough Blando, sons Dean Blando Jr. and Christian Bernhardt, grandchildren  Natalia Rose Blando, Dean Blando III, Giovanni Blando and Bayley Bernhardt, siblings Vincent Blando (Kim), Nicole Blando, and Paul Blando (Scarlett). He was the beloved uncle to Gabriella Blando, Zachary Blando, Brandon Blando, David Anthony Rolon, Alicia Caguana, and Lily Blando.

Dean was born to Salvatore and Cheryl Blando (deceased) and lived most of his early life in the Overbrook section of West Philadelphia. Always known as a fearless soul and hard worker, Dean was well-known to many from the “old neighborhood” and beyond. He found his calling in roofing, and served as a roofer for 28 years, including owning his own successful business - Dean’s Home Improvements - serving happy customers in Philadelphia and the surrounding counties.

Dean attended Cassidy Elementary School in Overbrook, and Robert E. Lamberton High School in Overbrook Park.

Dean is considered by many to be someone you wanted on your side when things got tough. He had a big heart and was always willing to help people whenever and however he could. His parents and family were very proud of how he overcame obstacles to become successful in his field. He was instrumental in being present for his parents in their final years and days, showing compassion and love.

He has been the lynchpin of a family that needed one. He used his home to not only provide his niece and nephew a place to live, but also bringing family together often to celebrate holidays, birthdays and other events.

Dean loved fast and loud things, and always did. He owned a Honda scooter when he was 16, and was always on the move ever since. As a child, family always joked that Dean couldn’t ever sit still. That didn’t change as he got older. One of his favorite pastimes was riding his motorized vehicles on local paths with family, friends and neighbors.

He loved dogs, and his beloved Legend will miss his Dad. For most who met and knew Dean, he left a mark. The outpouring of support from his circle of friends has been amazing. We ask that you keep his family in your thoughts as we navigate this terrible loss.

A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, October 1, 2024, at 12:30pm, at New Liberty Baptist Church, 3210 Concord Rd., Aston, PA. Visitiation will begin at 11:00 a.m.  All who knew Dean are welcome to pay their final respects.

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Wilde Funeral Home of Parkesburg. Online condolences can be posted at www.wildefuneralhome.com

Losing people is always bad for us in life, and I think that such dramas are best endured only in films, for example 123movie, here, you can get distracted and watch what interests you.
