lDear Lois, DJ and Jordan,

I was so shock when I received the call and still can’t comprehend that Danny is gone. We had just been talking on the 4th of July and he was so excited about the upcoming nuptials of Jordan & Seendy and sharing pictures of his grandson, Gavin. He was so devoted and proud of his family and loved each of you so much.

Who will be my partner in crime, researching our Italian ancestors and coming up with so many theories about the Branca family? We could spend hours upon hours talking about the latest research and totally lose track of time. Poor Lois, you put up with us every time we got together. There was always a what if behind every lead. I promise you Danny that I will keep up the research until I find the answers; letting you know when I see you again.

So very sorry to hear of Dan's passing. He always had time for a a kind and genuine exchange in the hallways at school. His warmth and pleasant manners will be remembered by many of us that had the benefit of interacting with him. I appreciated that he often stopped to ask about Rhett (the high school hound dog)  and pet him.  Prayers for comfort to your family.

Pat Dodd & I became instant lifelong friends the moment we entered Bishop Shanahan  High.  She was a sweet, humble farm girl from Oxford and I was an introverted Malvern  girl.  Our lives/families intertwined, with  Danny & Mary being close in heart and with Pat being de facto auntie to my daughter Kristen Klugh.  Our Moms also hit it off immediately at the Spring Concert in 1961, accidentally sitting side by side and chatting up a storm only to become aware of the cosmic closeness they shared!   Danny was always a warm, welcoming young man of high morals and faith.  He kindly gave one of the barn kitties to my Kristen!  Pat was so proud of her siblings and their children.  I miss her even more as our class approaches its 60th reunion in the Fall.  I know Helen and Uncle Lewis were right there at Heaven's Gate to welcome him home.   My very heart and soul goes out to Lois and family and little Mary!
