Constance J. "Connie" Brackin

Constance J. "Connie" Brackin, 70, of Fairmount Homes Retirement Community, Ephrata passed away on Wednesday, May 13, 2009 at the Fairmount Health Care center. She was the beloved wife of William H. Brackin with whom she shared 35 years of marriage. Born in Pomeroy, Pa. she was the daughter of the late Malcolm R. and Elizabeth Leike Mulvaney.

Connie graduated from the Coatesville Hospital School of Nursing and was employed as a registered nurse serving at the former Coatesville Hospital, the Coatesville VA Medical Center and the Elsmere VA Medical Center in Wilmington, DE retiring in 1994.
She enjoyed history and was a member of the Chester Co. Historical Society, the Sadsbury Twp., Historical Society, the Oxford Area Historical Society, the Delaware Genealogical Society and the Genealogical Society of Pennsylvania. She was also a member of Christian Fellowship Church of New Holland.
She is survived, in addition to her husband, by one son L. Kenneth Shank of Avondale, three grandchildren; Christopher Shank, Samantha Shank and Jason Simmons, one sister Nancy Foreman of New York and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a sister Lucinda Moretz.
Funeral services will be held on Monday May 18, 2009 at 10:00am from the Christian Fellowship Church, 758 Spruce Road, New Holland, PA  followed by interment at Friendship Methodist Cemetery, Gum Tree, Pa. Family and friends are also invited to attend the viewing Sunday evening, May 17 from 6 to 8:00pm at the Wilde Funeral Home, 434 Main St. Parkesburg, Pa. and also at the church on Monday from 9 to 10:00am.
Memorial donations may be made in Connie's memory to the Fairmount Homes Sharing Fund, 333 Wheat Ridge Drive, Ephrata, PA 17522-8558.
