Clyde Everett Hall, 88, of Ephrata, passed away on Wednesday, June 24, 2009 at the Hospice of Lancaster County Mt. Joy location. He was the husband of Rebecca Spickler Hall with whom he shared 63 years of marriage. Born in Christiana, PA, he was the son of the late William and Laura Harris Hall.
Clyde entered the US Army on June 15, 1942 with basic training in Camp Blanding, Florida. He was a Tech/5 Corporal serving as a truck driver throughout WWII in Europe and was honorably discharged at Indiantown Gap on October 11, 1945. He owned and operated a TV and appliance repair business for 44 years then worked for the Lukens Steel Co. in Coatesville for eight years until his retirement. He attended the Mission of Love Church in Ephrata.
He is survived, in addition to his wife, by four daughters; Jean, wife of James Smith of Hartville, Ohio, Lois, wife of William Pyott of Paradise, PA, Joyce, wife of Mark Ford of East Fallowfield, PA, Cynthia, wife of Robert Casenta of Grayson, GA, 10 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, two sisters; Marian Huster of West Chester and Dorothy Swift of Atglen and one brother Eugene Hall of Ephrata. He was preceded in death by a son Clyde, Jr., five brothers; Harold, Morris, James, William and Howard and one half brother Walter Harris.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, July 1, 2009 at 11:00 am from the Wilde Funeral Home, 434 Main St. Parkesburg, followed by interment at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Christiana, Pa. Family and friends are also invited to attend the viewing from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Hopsice of Lancaster County, P.O. Box 4125, Lancaster, PA 17604.
