Charles W. "Sonny" Bowles, Jr., 80, of Morgantown, died on Friday, December 26, 2014 at the Coatesville VA Medical Center. Born in Coatesville, he was the son of the late Charles W. Bowles, Sr. and Hazel L. Hilton Bowles.
An area resident all his life, he proudly served in the US Army from 1957 to 1959. He was a co-owner and operator of the Red Star Saloon in Reading, PA.
He is survived by one niece Charleah Prange of Hummelstown, one nephew Leonard B. Prange and wife Diane of Parkesburg, great nephew Christopher Prange and great niece Angie Gordon and several great great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his sister Charlotte Trago.
Graveside services will be held on Friday, January 2, 2015 at 1:00 pm at the Fairview Cemetery, 786 Oak St., Coatesville, PA 19320.

"Charlie" Bowles, The Red Star
I worked for Charlie at the Red Star since 2007. Charlie was a very friendly and approachable man and became a close friend during the past seven and a half years. He will be missed by his close friends and acquaintances. I will very much miss his friendship, humor and easy going attitude. His favorite song was "No Regrets" by Miss Edith Piaf, which was the song I would always end my set at the end of the evening. Thank you for allowing me to share...Love you, Charlie!
