Charles S. Scott, Jr., 93, of Parkesburg, PA, passed away on Saturday, December 9, 2023 at the Sunrise Nursing Care Center in Exton, PA. He was the beloved husband of Jill E. Coover Scott with whom he shared 21 years of marriage. Born in Parkesburg, he was the son of the late Charles S. Scott, Sr. and Lydia Radcliffe Scott Conover.
Charlie was a Parkesburg resident practically his entire life. He proudly served in the US Army from 1952 to 1954 and was stationed overseas in Germany.
Charlie was employed at the former ServiStar Warehouse of Parkesburg in the maintenance department.
He was a member of the Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd Church in Coatesville, the Parkesburg Lions Club where he served as a Lion Tamer and he was a former member of the Keystone Masonic Lodge #569 F.& A.M. of Parkesburg.
He is survived, in addition to his wife, by two daughters; Barbara Kilpatrick and husband Bernie of Shillington, and Kathleen Beach and husband Randy of Cochranville, three grandchildren; Jenn Doerrman and husband Todd of Reading, PA, Joshua Beach and wife Lindsay of Ephrata and Kaitlin Kunkel and husband Donnie of Gap, one great grandson Kash Kunkel, and one, soon to be, great granddaughter Nora Beach. He was preceded in death by two siblings; James H. Scott and Helen S. Moore.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, December 19, 2023 at 11:00 AM at the Wilde Funeral Home, 434 Main St. Parkesburg, PA followed by interment at the Upper Octorara Cemetery, Parkesburg, PA. Family and friends are also invited to attend the viewing at the funeral home on Tuesday morning from 10:00 AM to the time of the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in his memory to the Parkesburg Lions Club, 412 5th Ave. Parkesburg, PA 19365.
