Amelia B. Mackey, 91, formerly of Gap, passed away on Tuesday, March 11, 2014 at Maple Farms in Akron. She was the widow of Fredrick Evans, who passed in 1981, and John L. Mackey, who passed away in 2004.
Born Kennett Square, Amelia was the daughter of the late Mary Alice (Atkins) and Ralph Baldwin. An area resident most of her life, she attended the Coatesville High School.
Amelia worked at Embreeville State Hospital for five years as a Nurses Aide.
He was a member of the Gap V.F.W. Ladies Auxiliary and the Christian American Legion Ladies Auxiliary.
She is survived by her son Frederick John Evans, husband of Peg, of Huntingdon County, PA, her daughter-in-law, Deb Ondeck-Evans; eight grandchildren; eight great grandchildren and two great, great grandchildren.
Amelia was predeceased by her son Gregory Lee Evans and her sister Cora Shank.
The Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, March 15, 2014 at 11 AM at the Hephzibah Baptist Church, 2237 Strasburg Rd, Coatesville, PA 19320, followed by interment in the adjoining cemetery. The viewing will be from 10 until 11 AM.
