Alice M. McCarty, 86, of Parkesburg, passed away on Monday, December 9, 2019, at the Penn Medicine Hospice Center in West Chester. She was the widow of the late Charles R. "Chew" McCarty with whom she shared 68 years of marriage. Born in Parkesburg, she was the daughter of the late George W. Nitzenberger and Rachel H. Proudfoot Nitzenberger.
Alice was a lifelong resident of Parkesburg. She was employed for 25 years by the Pillsbury Company retiring as a Quality Assurance Director. She was a member and Past Matron of the Chris Penn Chapter 4455 Order of The Eastern Star and a Life Member of the West End Fire Company Auxiliary in Coatesville.
She is survived by one daughter Marsha McCarty Montgomery of Plymouth Meeting, son-in-law Gene Wischuck of Parkesburg, seven grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, five great-great-grandchildren, sister-in-law Gerri Nitzenberger of Parkesburg and brother Bob Nitzenberger and wife Sharon of Geneseo, NY. She was preceded in death by her daughter Linda Sue Wischuck.
Graveside services will be held on Friday, December 13, 2019, at 2:00 PM at the Georgetown Methodist Cemetery, 1070 Georgetown Rd, Georgetown, PA 17562 with Pastor Mark Beideman officiating. At Alice's request please omit flowers. Memorial donations may be made in her memory to AristaCare at Meadow Springs, 845 Germantown Pike, Plymouth Meeting, PA 19462 where Alice's daughter is being cared for.

To Alice's Family.. I am heartbroken to hear of the passing of Alice. I have been her friend and hairstylist for over 33 years. I feel like I know you all. I have heard a zillions stories about you all. She loved you all very much.
