Alfred H. Hicks Sr.

Alfred H. Hicks, Sr. 72, of Parkesburg, passed away on Saturday, August 8th at Pocopson Home of West Chester.  Born in Coatesville, he was the son of the late Mildred (Dickinson) and John Hicks Sr.

An area resident his entire life, Alfred worked for 28 years at Lukens Steel.  He was a member of the former Elk Lodge of Coatesville and a former member of Enon Baptist Church of West Grove.

He is survived by two children: Dorothy Hicks of West Chester and Alfred H. Hicks, Jr. of Lancaster; four grandchildren; five great grandchildren and two siblings, Rev. Fredrick Hicks, husband of Brenda, of Coatesville and Priscilla Macon of Downingtown.

Alfred was predeceased by siblings John Hicks III and Yvonne Leapot.

The Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, August 13 at 11 AM at Wilde Funeral Home, 434 Main St., Parkesburg followed by interment in New Evergreen Cemetery.  The viewing will be from 9 until 11 AM.
