Nancy L. Coates, 77, of Coatesville, passed away on Friday, September 27, 2024 at the Chester County Hospital in West Chester, PA. She was the widow of the late Lewis Orvelle "Lew" Coates who passed away in 2019. They shared 40 years of marriage together. Born in Coatesville, she was the daughter of the late Lewis Moore and Janet Proudfoot Moore.
Nancy was an area resident all her life and a 1965 graduate of the former Scott High School in Coatesville. She was employed, for over 20 years, at the Chertok's Furniture Store in Coatesville.
She is survived by two sons; Bert L. Mize and wife Brenda Woodward of Honey Brook and Rodney Mize and wife Shawn Mize of Coatesville, step children Robert and Laura Coates of Coatesville, eight grandchildren; Jenna, Johnny, Brittney, Kelly, Anthony, Matthew, Markelle and Bub, three great grandchildren; one step grand child Amanda; Doug, Molly and Max and three sisters; Kay Walton of Spring City, PA, Helen Bernard of East Fallowfield, PA and Rose Profeto of Georgia. She was preceded in death by two siblings; Bill Moore and Carol Profeto.
Services will be private at the convenience of the family.
