Frank Burkey (Butch), 79, of Parkesburg, PA, passed away on Friday, September 13, 2024, in Honey Brook, PA. He was the husband of Anna Logan Burkey for over 56 years. Born in Coatesville, PA, he was the son of the late Frank and Pauline Kralovic Burkey.

Frank was a graduate of Scott High School in Coatesville, and worked as a supervisor for Cyclop Corporation in Downingtown, PA. After retirement at Cyclop, he held a part time job at Lowes in the outdoor department. He loved working with lawn mowers, especially his John Deere.

Frank was a proud leader of Scout troop 135 of Parkesburg, PA. His accomplishments included getting his Wood badge and completing an 88 mile hike at Philmont.

In the 70's Frank coached the Dolphins midget football team of Parkesburg, PA and held a seat on the Parkesburg Borough council. He also went to an electronics school and started a small side business fixing TV's. Frank loved to "tinker." Around the house he could fix or do just about anything. In his later years, as the internet took hold, he was right there with it and loved being on his computer. In his down time, Frank very much enjoyed fishing, watching Cowboy movies and every Eagles game. He was also an avid toy train collector who would set up a display every Christmas. He was devoted to his family and friends.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, Lynn of Virginia, Adam of Parkesburg, a stepson, Mike of Virginia, Grandchildren, Anthony of Pennsylvania, Morgan of Arkansas, and Jordyn of Florida. He was preceded in death by a sister, Gerri Farris and survived by her son, Anthony Farris.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, September 20, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. from the Wilde Funeral Home, Parkesburg, with visitation starting at 10:00 a.m. Friends and family are invited to wear Eagles attire.    Butch was my closest friend. I remember the fun times growing up in Westwood. I remember us delivering newspapers, camping out, Boy Scouts, and playing basketball on the play ground at Westwood School. He was my best man at my wedding in 1965.
I’m especially thankful that we were able to spend time at the Little Chief each month having breakfast with our Westwood friends.
I will miss you my friend.

Was sorry to hear about Butch. He was really a good guy. Sorry, Ann that we didn't get to know each other before he passed on. My friend Linda Heffner also sends her condolences as he as one of the few people she remembers from Westwood. Her dad was in charge of the Capital Bakery when we were kids.
