Alfred L. Walton, 82, of West Caln Township, PA, passed away at his home on Wednesday, February 7, 2024.  He was the husband of the late JoAnn Coulter Walton who passed away in 2019.  Born in Caln Township, Chester County, PA, he was the son of the late Albert E. Walton Sr. and Neva R. Guiney Walton.

Alfred was an area resident all his life, known to many as Al or Sonny, graduating from Coatesville and working as an electrician at Lukens Steel Company. He held many part-time jobs too including his own side electrical business.

He loved fishing and always put everyone before himself.  He stopped everything at the "drop of a hat" to help all his family with whatever they needed.  He was president of the CB Club Six Shooters, and his call handle was "paperman". Sonny never had a mean word to say about anyone.  There is so much more we could say about Dad, but we know he did not like the spotlight on himself.  He was a good humble man!

He is survived by his children, James B. (Lavinia) Walton of Coatesville, Scott W. (Missy) Walton Sr. of Coatesville, and Crystal L. Killian of Honey Brook, PA, seven grandchildren Scott Jr, Tyler, Caitlin, Mallory, Madison, Jimmy, Chad, nine great-grandchildren Brady, Levi, Bryan, Matthew, Michael, Cally Rae, Kinsley, Bradley Ann, Emma and a sister, Betty Lou Stirling of Parkesburg, PA.  He was preceded in death by a daughter, Dana M. Walton, and siblings, Marvin, Albert Jr., Ed, Carl, Carol, Gladys, and Shirley.

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, February 17, 2024, at 11:00 AM from the Wilde Funeral Home, 434 Main St., Parkesburg, Pennsylvania, 19365. Friends and family are invited to attend a visitation period taking place from 10:00 AM until the start of the service.  Interment to follow at Hephzibah Baptist Cemetery in East Fallowfield.

The first home I remember was across the street from the Walton’s. I have been blessed to be friends with Crystal for as long as I have memories. We were often in and out of each other’s homes. Sonny and JoAnn were both primary to my childhood and together they raised the most kind hearted woman I have been blessed to know. Condolences to all that are grieving, it is a high cost for love.
