Gregory J. Leonard, 68, of Coatesville, PA, passed away on Thursday, December 7, 2023, in Paoli, PA. He was the husband of Christine Kayfield Leonard for over 35 years. Born in Paterson, NJ, he was the son of the late Joseph Leonard and Editha Parker.
Gregory attended Haverford College and proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy. He was stationed on the USS Forrestal as helmsman. After his time in the Navy he would go on to work for the East Fallowfield Road Department. He was an avid pool player and enjoyed playing the electric guitar. He was a big fan of the Preston and Steve Morning Show on WMMR and enjoyed listening to Rock and Roll, Alternative music, and the Blues. He was a major Philadelphia sports fan and enjoyed rooting for the Eagles, Flyers, and Phillies. In his downtime he would spend the days feeding the backyard animals and birds that would visit or you could find him hitting golf balls. He was a loving, generous, and caring man.
In addition to his wife, Gregory is survived by a daughter, Kristen (Stephen) Bowen of California, grandchildren; Emree, Blake, Jameson, and Banks, step-granddaughters, Julia and Violet, a brother Joseph (Joyce), a nephew, Joseph, and a niece, Joanne. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Mariesa Hinchey and a son-in-law, Bernie Kensakowski.
Funeral services will be held on Sunday, December 17, 2023, at 2:00 p.m. from the Wilde Funeral Home, Parkesburg, PA, with visitation beginning at 1:00 p.m. Interment will be at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville, PA, on Monday, December 18, at 2:30 p.m.
