Gloria M. Davis, 82, formerly of Wagontown, PA, passed away on Saturday, December 2, 2023, at Zerbe Sisters Nursing Facility in Narvon, PA.  She was the loving wife of the late Glenn M. Davis who passed away in 2020.  Born in Coatesville, PA, she was the daughter of the late Mervin and Margaret (Holland) Moyer.

Gloria was a 1958 graduate of Scott High School in Coatesville and a 1961 graduate of Lancaster Nursing School where she received her RN in nursing.  She worked as a registered nurse at Chester County Hospital in West Chester, PA, in private practice for Dr. Lawrence Alwine in Downingtown, PA, and for the Devereux School in Malvern, PA.  She also worked as a caregiver for the Seniors Helping Seniors program.

Gloria loved her Lord and Savior and because of that love made the decision to join the Wagontown Union Chapel in Coatesville. While a member of the church, she sang in the choir and participated in the caring and sharing group.

Gloria cherished her family. She is survived by her children, Pam (Dale) Russell of Reading, PA, Jeffrey (Kara) Davis of Morgantown, PA, and Bradley (Kristen) Davis of Morgantown. She was preceded in death by her son, Glenn Davis. The crowning glory for Gloria was the arrival of her grandchildren.  She was the grandmother to eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild. She loved and adored each one of her grandchildren and enjoyed spending time with them. She was preceded in death by her siblings, Joanna Augustine, Constance Wills, and Gerrie Barham.

Friends and family are welcome to attend graveside services to celebrate Gloria’s life on Friday, December 15, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. at Hephzibah Baptist Church Cemetery, 2237 Strasburg Rd., East Fallowfield, PA.  In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to Wagontown Chapel, 463 W. Condolences

Gloria was a lovely friendly girl. Remember her from high school days as always friendly and she and Glenn made such a cute couple. She was blessed with a good marriage and a great family and many good friends. Remember her and Glenn both fondly. One of the good ones.

We both loved Gloria.  She was such a nice person, great employee and wonderful nurse.  She was always willing to help, and she helped us out many times when we were short of a Nurse.  We called  her early in the morning to come in and cover many times.  She always helped us out if she could.  She was kind and helpful to our patients and they all loved her.  She was very easy going no matter how busy it got. She always was very pleasant.  To her family, you have our sincere sympathy.  We were very sorry to hear of her passing.

Gloria was so nice to work with at Dr. Alwine‘s office. I am so honored to have known her. She was an excellent nurse and we looked at the dates of when she was at Lancaster General School of Nursing and believe she might have been in the nursery department in the fall of 59 when I was born!!  I recall how she loved jellybeans, the buttered popcorn, flavored ones and I used to buy her a pack now on again, My deepest condolence to her family. God bless.
