Sweetie Thompson Leonard, 75, of Coatesville, passed away on Thursday, March 10th, 2022 under the care of the University of Pennsylvania Hospital of Philadelphia.  Born in Coatesville, Sweetie was the daughter of the late Vera (Garnett) and Charles “Doc” Thompson.

An area resident her entire life, Sweetie worked at Simon’s Shoe Store for over 30 years and most recently worked as a caregiver at Seniors Helping Seniors.  Sweetie volunteered at Lamancha Animal Rescue every week, taking care of the Cat-Condo.

Sweetie was the life of the party wherever she went and loved to dance!  Sweetie was very stylish, color-coordinating her shoes and purse with every outfit.  She was the best-dressed person in the room!

Sweetie was a jokester who managed to make people laugh in any circumstance.  Sweetie had her own line of personalized greeting cards.  She enjoyed gardening, interior decorating, white zinfandel, and sweet foods and candies.  But most of all, she loved spending time with her family.

Sweetie is survived by her three daughters, Vonnay Chambers, wife of Jim, and Rhonda DeCarlo, wife of Fran Forte; and adopted daughter, Sheil Caldwell; companion, Jack Coldren, and their puppy, Rusty; six grandchildren, Jessica DiStefano, Jerry Lyons, Alex Lyons, Mallory Lyons, fiancé of Becca Adkins, Vaughn Chambers, husband of Molly, and Makenzy Caldwell; three great-grandchildren, Sienna, Madison, and Bella; her sister/niece, Rayna Forte; her best friend, Joanne Fryer; and three cats, Peanut, B-B, and Little Girl (and many, many strays).

She was predeceased by her siblings: Yvonne Althouse, Charles “Doc” Thompson, Robert Thompson, Walter Thompson, and Dale Smith.

The Funeral Service will be held on Friday, March 18th, 2022 at 12 noon at Wilde Funeral Home, 434 Main Street, Parkesburg, Pa., followed by interment in Upper Octorara Cemetery of Parkesburg.  The visitation will be held from 10:30 AM until the time of the service.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Sweetie’s memory to Lamancha Animal Rescue, P.O. Box 656 Unionville PA 19375 or online at www.lamanchaanimalrescue.org/donate
