Betty Jane Moore, 95, formerly of Parkesburg, passed away on Saturday, May 8th, 2021.  Since 2017, she has been living in Downingtown with her daughter, Lyn.

Born in South Haven, Michigan, Betty was the daughter of the late Sophie (Kramp) and Paul Graham.

Betty worked as a supervisor for Pepperidge Farm and later as a supervisor at GODIVA Chocolates.  She had a knack for remembering each of her family member's favorite GODIVA Chocolates.

Betty was an active member of Coatesville Moose Lodge, and both the Parkesburg and Strasburg Seniors Clubs, often joining them on their extended trips.  She enjoyed traveling, having visited Australia, New Zealand, Alaska, the Caribbean, and numerous other places in the United States with her late companion of 40 years, Wayne Clark.  She and Wayne often spoke to truckers through CB radio.  Her CB handle was "Lady Godiva".

Betty enjoyed following the Eagles and Phillies and would watch and often attend NASCAR races.  Betty loved pink roses, creating wreaths, her homegrown tomatoes, and cooking.  Christmas was her holiday, filling her living room with presents for her family.  She'll be remembered for her holiday soup and bacon rolls, recipes that she passed down to her family.

Betty is survived by her two daughters, Sheri Sylvester, and husband John, and Lyn Flores; grandchildren, William John Sylvester, and wife Erin, Rob Sylvester, David Flores, and wife Renee, Kristin Borowy, and husband Eric, and Nicole Valentin, and husband Anthony; and great-grandchildren, Zach Sylvester, Dominic and Ryan Flores, Dylan and Blake Valentin, Julian Beach, and Kasella and Jaxson Borowy.

The Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, May 15th, 2021 at 12:30 noon at Wilde Funeral Home, 434 Main St., Parkesburg, Pa., with a viewing from 11:30 AM until the time of the service.  Interment will be private.

Lyn, i am so sorry to hear about the passing of your mom.  I will remember her by all the pepperidge farm cookies and bread she always made sure she sent my way when she shopped at the outlet store.   I will remember the times she came to my house to have you perm her hair because Wayne hated the smell (and she always wanted to buy me a little gift).  But most i will miss all the text messages she sent me every holiday. I  would always get Merry Christmas, Happy Valentines Day etc on my phone from her, just her way of saying hello and always thinking of someone else.   I was always amazed at her age that she texted so often and it always made me smile.  Lyn i am thinking of you and all your family members during this difficult time.  hugs and love...

I am sorry for your loss. Betty was my Supervisor at the Godiva Reading plant. She taught me how to be tough but fair and it was because of her that I too became a supervisor. She was someone I respected and always looked forward to seeing her with her daughter Lynn in the employee store during the holidays. My sincere condolences to the family.

So very sorry for your loss!  She was a one of a kind and very special.as a supervisor. She kept all those girls at Godiva in line and we were even a little afraid of her.  She did her job and did it fare and taught so many of us early girls there to treat people with respect. RIP Betty

So sorry to hear of Betty Moore's passing. She was my supervisor when I worked at Godiva many years ago. She did her job well and was always pleasant to me. She was a very sweet person & everyone that worked under her respected her. She would always be on the job, come rain, sleet, snow, whatever, Betty was always there. I still remember her driving her cadillac all the way from Parkersburg. She will always be remembered in my eyes as a genuine person that cared about a company that she treasured. Wonder what she would think if she could see how it has changed. Rest In Peace Betty. Prayers to her family.
