Harold George White, 87, of Parkesburg, passed away on Tuesday, June 14, 2011 at the Brandywine Hospital.
Born in Parkesburg, he was the son of the late George L. and Edith Walpole White. He graduated from the Parkesburg High School in 1941. He was a Parkesburg resident his entire life and served as the Borough Auditor for 15 years and the Borough Treasurer for 20 years.
Harold served honorable in the US Army during WWII as a Technician in the 86th Infantry Division, 343rd Regimen. He earned the Bronze Star.
He retired from Lukens Steel in 1982, where he worked in the Metallurgical Dept. for 40 years.
Harold was a lifetime member of the Parkesburg Methodist Church, the Parkesburg VFW Post 4480, the Brandywine-Goddard Lodge #383 and the Parkesburg Fire Co.
He is survived by his two children, Cynthia Frederick, wife of Thomas, of Brandamore, and Chris White of Aqua Dulce, CA; his wife, JoAnn Slaymaker White; three stepchildren; and five grandchildren. He was predeceased by his sister, Betty Stoner.
The Memorial Service will be held on Monday, June 20, 2011 at 11 at the Wilde Funeral Home, 434 Main Street, Parkesburg. Family and friends are invited to attend the visitation, which will take place from 10 until 10:50 AM, at which time a Masonic Service will be held.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Parkesburg Methodist Church, 411 Main St., Parkesburg, Pa. 19365.

Dear Cindy and Chris, You probably don't remember me. My name is Pam (Forbes) Robinson. I was so sorry to hear of you Father's passing. I had several occasions when we got together, at the Herr's house for a holiday. We would reminice of days gone by in Parkesburg. Haven't seen him in awhile, but I understand he had trouble with his heart. It's always a sad occasion when a loved one passes on. Please accept my husband's and my sincere condolences.
