Carolyn Marie Glendenning, daughter of Leroy and Katie Reiff, was born on October 9, 1932. She graduated from Collegeville-Trappe High School in 1950 and was employed for many years as a secretary with the Perkiomen Valley School District. She was affectionately known to students as “Mrs G.” Gerald Glendenning was born on August 6, 1932 and was raised by his foster parents, James and Alice Renner. At age 17, he enlisted in the military, serving in the 82nd Airborne, from 1949-1953. He was also a devoted employee for Bell Atlantic until retirement. Gerald and Carolyn were married on August 9, 1953 and are survived by four daughters- Kathleen (Joseph) Warsheski, Karleen (Steven) McAdams, Debra (Brent) Francis-Werner and Dawn (John) McClure, 10 grandchildren- Eric, Ethan, Anthony, Jessica, Heather, Shawn, Sarah, Joseph, Kaitlyn, Michaela and 12 great-grandchildren. Carolyn is also survived by her brother Wesley Reiff, his wife Joyce and their children, Daniel and Cheryl. Upon retirement, Gerry and Carol were inseparable- whether working on the homestead that they cherished, traveling, enjoying time with their children and grandchildren or rescuing feral cats. What their children will remember and honor most about them was their intense love and loyalty for each other. Carol departed this earth on December 6, 2020 and Gerry, in his final act of making Carol wait for him, departed this earth on December 9, 2020. Their earthly suffering has ended and they are safely in the arms of our Lord, Jesus Christ. His daughters are eternally grateful to the staff at Einstein Medical Center-Montgomery, Phoenixville Hospital and Season’s Hospice, who lovingly cared for them in their absence until their passing.

Gerald and Carolyn Glenndenning
Kathy, Kathleen, Debbie, Dawn...I am deeply saddened to hear of your parents passing. Such great memories I have of all of you and your parents!! Your Mom's giggle and your Dad and my Dad talking about their motorcycles. Your Dad would come down to chat with Dad often after Mom's passing. So kind of him to do that. Dawn was a fixture at our house. Your parents were great neighbors and great friends. The last of the old neighborhood I loved so much. You are all in my prayers and may they Rest In Peace.
Our sympathy
My brother, Jeff, and I were very sad to learn of the passing of the Glendennings. They played such a big part in our childhood memories of Creamery. Jeff and Mr. G would talk for hours about their favorite team, the Dallas Cowboys. I remember catching rides with Mrs. Glendenning and Dawn on the way to PV band practice. Visitiing Carolyn's, mother Katie Reiff, next door. Countless hours either at their house or our house -- made for a lovely neighborhood. Rest both in peace.
Paul and I have many
Paul and I have many wonderful memories of Gerry and Carolyn. Paul knew Gerry from church. When we got married - Gerry and Carolyn invited us to their place for a delicious steak dinner to celebrate our marriage. He would often pop by our place on his motorcycle just to say "HI". Thankfully they had a wonderful life together - now they spend eternity in heaven together. Fondly, Paul and Carolee Bergey.
Sorry for your loss
We are very sorry to hear about your loss.
