Frank Richard "Richie" Hash, 56, of Cochranville, passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his family on Saturday, October 24, 2020. He was the beloved husband of Susan Pitkow Hash with whom he shared 25 years of marriage. Born in West Chester, he was the son of Frank M. Hash of West Chester and the late Jane Riedy Hash.

Richie was an area resident all his life and a 1984 graduate of West Chester East High School. He was self-employed for 35 years in the landscaping business.

Richie was a member of the Waterloo Boys Tractor Club.  Besides his family, his lifelong passion was hunting.  He was a member of the Bear Paw Lodge in Center County, PA.  His greatest hunting achievement was his 13 point, 180-pound field-dressed buck that was a Pennsylvania state record in the compound bow category.  The buck was taken in Chester County and was featured in the July 2004 issue of Rack Magazine. Rich also had a passion for John Deere tractors and will always be remembered for his annual John Deere Tractor Parade which has become a Cochranville tradition.  Richie was always the life of the party and happy to entertain others, usually at his own expense.  He brightened the day of everyone around him.

He is survived, in addition to his wife, by one son Ryan Hash, at home, three siblings; James M. Hash and wife Stacey of West Grove, PA, Wendy York and husband Thomas of Douglassville, PA and Julie Killeen and husband Thomas of Colorado Springs, CO., brother-in-law Steve Pitkow, sister-in-law Paula Pitkow, three nephews Travis York, James Killeen and Reed Pitkow and two nieces Jillian Hash and Amanda "Aly" York.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Friday, November 6, 2020, at 1:00 PM at the Parkesburg United Methodist Church, 411 Main St., Parkesburg, PA 19365. Visitation from 11:00 AM to the time of the service.  In addition, the family will be hosting a celebration in Richie's honor on July 4, 2021, at the annual John Deere Tractor Parade.

Richie, you were a delight to know.  We had many a good time with you and the boys hunting deer at our home on Woodbine Rd. It was a thrill seeing true hunters hanging at the WaWa.... you, Mort and the boys.  Ledgends of Chester County brave, fearless warriors of the wild.  Your time here is a tribute to family and friends.  Those memories will live with us forever.  Our sincerest condolences to your loving family.  Pat and Tony Pierantozzi

My family and I saw Richie each year the day after Thanksgiving.  He and Morty came out to Maryland to John and Jul's for the guys to hunt. Richie had a 'way about him' that endeared you to him immediately.  He had the funniest way of recounting just everyday experiences and stories;  without even trying to be funny, he just made you laugh!   I was so truly sorry to hear of Richie's passing. He will be missed by so many;  I know his memory will live on in the lives of all who knew and loved him.  Our sincere condolences go out to Sue, Ryan and all the Hash family.

Rich will certainly be missed.  He was a good man who was obviously well loved and valued by all who knew him.  It was inspiring to hear both dad and wife speak so lovingly of his impact.

May God's grace minister to your family as you heal from this great loss.
