Gerald I. Benner, 93, of Coatesville, passed away on Sunday, July 2 at Brandywine Hospital.  He was the beloved husband of Elizabeth Osborn Benner, with whom he shared 65 years of marriage.  

Born in Coatesville, he was the son of the late Mary (Morrison) and Paul Benner.  Gerald was a graduate of Coatesville Area School District.  He served honorably in WWII in the Army.  

He worked in customer service with Exelon (PECO) for 40 years.  

Gerald was a member of Hephzibah Baptist Church.  He was a former Trustee at Westwood Union Church; he was a member of the Bowling League and the Parkesburg Senior Citizens.

He is survived, in addition to his wife, by his three children: Keith Benner, husband of Susan, of Coatesville, Michele Crone of Coatesville, and Leslie Benner of Coatesville; five grandchildren, Christopher Benner, husband of Lindsay, of Virginia Beach, Megan Rilley, wife of Eric, of Saylorville, Pa., Brittany Stoltzfus, wife of Justin, of Calvert, Maryland, Lindsey Benner of Coatesville, and Madison Crone of New Holland; four great-grandchildren; and he was predeceased by his brother, Kenneth Benner.

The Funeral Service will be held on Friday, July 7th, 2017 at 11 AM at Hephzibah Baptist Church, 2237 Strasburg Rd, Coatesville, PA 19320, followed by interment in the adjoining cemetery.  The viewing will be at the Church from 10 until 11 AM.
