Fond Memories of Fred
I am so sorry to hear of the loss of Fred. I grew up in Parkesburg many years ago, living on Gay Street, as very close friends of my Parents, Jerry and Doris(Pete)Montgomery, Gladys and Ralph lived on Grant Street, and their special daughter, Dottie and husband Fred became very close and dear to me. I spent many times at their farm on Old Race Track Rd., in Highland twp. Since I lived in town, it was a treat to spend tme with Fred and Dottie in the country. This was before they started their own family. Fred treated me like his own. I am shocked because I grew up, married and have been in West Brandywine Twp. for 45 years and just "Yesterday", not knowing where Fred and Dottie got to, started reminiscing about them to my husband, Barry. Today, I read this sad news and hurt for Dottie and Family. Fred was a hard worker and had a big heart. I will always cherish the memories that I have of Fred.
With Sincere Sympathy and many prayers that God will give Dottie and Family, His help, His strength, and His hope during this time of sorrow.
Thanks for the memories "Fred". Rest In Peace. Keeping Dottie and Family in my Thoughts and Prayers.

Lewis and I send our deepest sympathy. We were both so very fond of Fred. Fred was a warm and loving soul. Both kind and generous. He will be sadly missed by the entire congregation at Upper Octorara.

Always Remembered, Never Forgotten
I wanted to share the most important thing I learned from Fred and Dottie, more commonly known as Paw Paw and Mom Mom at our house. They taught and showed my daughter Samantha and I that family is made from love, caring and being there. They do not share the same DNA, and we never signed any papers but they are the best grandparents my daughter could have. They have been there through all the good times and also the rough ones. I am eternally grateful and feel truly blessed to have known both of them and will miss Paw Paw very much.
