Donna Lou Hare, 71, of Phoenixville, laid her valiant 25-year Struggle with cancer to rest on January 18, 2016. Born on March 3, 1944 in Coatesville, she was the daughter of the Maurice J. Hare and Mildred Mowday Gregson.
Donna grew up in the Coatesville area and was a 1961 graduate of Scott High School where she excelled at sports and academics. Her secretarial career took her to Virginia for a number of years. She eventually relocated back to the Devon area and became an executive secretary at Quaker Chemical in Conshohocken, PA.
Throughout her life, Donna loved playing softball and was a member of many co-ed leagues throughout the area; however, her passion was golf. She also loved to travel, especially to Martha's Vineyard, MA and St. Michael's, MD.
A courageous cancer warrior, Donna foughtmultiple cancers. She was a legend among the doctors and nursing staffs at Paoli and University of Pennsylvania hospitals. Because of her positive attitude and determined grit to fight the cancers, she was known to most all of the preeminent doctors in the field of cancer treatment.
Donna is survived by a brother Maurice Hare (Judith) of Coatesville, two nieces; Marissa Ouaddafi (Abdul) of west Grove, PA and Megan Hare of Herndon, VA and a very special grand-niece, Sabrina Ouaddafi. She also leaves behind a half-brother, two half-sisters and cousins.

Condolences
My deepest sympathy
To Donna's family, I want to offer y deepest condolences. I was privileged to be able to call her my friend. Although I had moved away from the area many years ago, I loved being able to catch up with her last summer.
To Cass, my friend. I love you and send my regrets at not being able to make the memorial service. My thoughts and prayers are with you.
My Deepest Sorrow for a Wonderful Person
Donna will surely be missed. She always had a smile and her humor was certainly one enjoyed by all. I was lucky to have known a wonderful person for 28 years.
My deepest sympathies
To Donna's Family and Friends,
I cannot begin to express how sad I am to hear this news.
I was a neighbor of Donna's for just about 9 years, and I came to know her as a very strong and courageous lady.
There was nothing she wouldn't try once, and always looked at things as a chance to succeed, or at the very least, to try again.
Her struggles with her health, these past few years, were monumental in size, but you'd never know! Donna had a kind word and a smile for everyone she encountered.
She lived her life to the fullest, taking advantage of everything she could.
We were all lucky to have Donna in our lives, and Hopefully we can all rest easy knowing, Donna is looking over everyone!
I bid you peace, rest well, and THANK YOU, Donna, for everything!!!
God Speed!
Passing of Donna Hare
I am quite bummed out with the news of Donna passing. I haver not seen her for many years but we had something in common ie we share March 3 as our birthdays. Of course that meant we always commiserated every March 3rd while at Quaker. She was a lively and fun to be with person. I am certainly sorry she lost her fight.
I am devastated by Donna's
I am devastated by Donna's loss. She was such a dear friend (who loved the deer at Valley Forge Park!) and one of the funniest people I've had the pleasure of knowing. From our early days at CertainTeed, to the softball field, to dinners with friends (God bless her for initiating the scheduling), she was always happy and unbeat. She never complained. What a role model. Donna...I will miss you terribly.
Replying to my own message.
Replying to my own message. That should be upbeat, not unbeat. But you couldn't beat Donna's wonderful personality and zest for life.
INCREDIBLE FIGHTER
DONNA,
Me and KAREN were so saddened to hear of your sudden passing We knew that you were a survivor of cancer and you continued to fight this horrible disease. You were good friends with my wife's sister Cheryl Kennedy. You were always there for Cheryl any time of the day and for that we are greatful. Every time we visited Cheryl I always made it a point to look your way to see if you were busy in the yard/area just to say hello to such a genuine person. We both loved your hugs and beautiful smile and your positive presence was so infectious. You surely will be sadly missed by all that knew you. The neighborhood will never be the same. May Cassie and all your friends and family be comforted to know now you are in the Lords hands and you have to suffer no more. REST IN PEACE
