My heartfelt sorrow in the
My heartfelt sorrow in the loss of Freddy. It had been a long time since we had seen him, but our many fun times together are in our memories forever. He was a great guy and he certainly loved motorcycles, just like the rest of the Varnes family. We have lost a good man and I know that my Dad would have been there to welcome him to the racing family in heaven. He always felt the Varnes family was part of our family. My love and prayers to all the Varnes'. I am sorry I will not be able to attend his funeral but I will be there in spirit. Love and hugs to all!
Our Thoughts and Prayers are With You
To the Varnes family, we were sad to hear the news of Freddie's passing. Our family's have been connected all these years from the love of motorcycles. I know we have such fond memories spent with the Varnes family in all the racing years. You will be in our prayers.

To the Varnes family: I am
To the Varnes family: I am sorry to hear of Fred's passing. I was his neighbor for 10 years and he was a joy to be around. He took me on my first motorcycle ride, I was scared to death. He looked at me once and saw the terror in my eyes and laughed. Although scared after it was over I thought it was fun. I haven't seen Fred since I moved from the area, but I have thought of him many times. Please take care and keep your memories of Fred near and dear.
Love and Prayers
To the Varnes family and my brother in law Paul and his family . I pray that the Lord surrounds you with His love and peace as you struggle with the losses of Lois and Freddy.Freddy was a quiet, gentle soul like Lois. I think Paul and "little" Paul got their love of cycles from him.I remember "little" Paul putting together his first motorcycle from a box of cycle parts Freddy gave him.

Sorry to hear of Freddie's passing. My thoughts go out to the family.
Fred
Freddie liked to laugh as much as ride, so many stories over the years 99% included racing or riding. My first job in the motorcycle bizz at Penn State in Stowe, with Freddie, Eddie, Dolly and Jim. Lets not for get some of the other character's. We liked to change Al Knabb's time card to Owl Knabb.
All the boys at CDS Racing send their condolences. Dennis Nymam > RM125, Bob Heydt > RM125,Scott Missimer > TM125, Tom Sabo > KX125 Doug VanHorn > TM125, RM125, YZ250

Fred was our neighbor and friend for nineteen years. He was a most helpful and giving person. In addition to motorcycles, Fred loved walking along his creek and the animals that lived in and nearby. We will miss Fred. He was a good friend! We are making a donation to the Vietnam Veteran's Association in his name.
It's so sad to hear that a great person has left us
I will never forget how Fred, Jim, & Ed always treated everyone at Penn State Cycles with the utmost respect. In 1975 I was only an 18 year old looking to buy a Suziki TM100 but I was given the time and attention that a middle-aged man would have received if he were about to lay out $4000 on a major purchase. I thoroughly enjoyed interacting with everyone in the shop and felt that yours was a business to be admired. I wish that I had been able to stay in contact with you all in the years since I moved over to self-propelled recreation. I still dream of getting back on a dirt bike and getting the adrenaline going again. At 57 I had better play it smart and stick to whitewater kayaking, bicycling, backpacking, and skiing. So far, no major injuries.
You guys stay safe and healthy.
