Harold D. Swisher

Harold D. Swisher, 91, formerly of Coatesville, passed away on Thursday, December 30, 2010 at Hickory House of Honey Brook.  He was the widower of the late Mary E. Rogers Swisher, who passed away in 2008.  



Born in Coatesville, he was the son of the late Daniel and Clara Daniels Swisher.  Harold was a 1937 graduate of the Coatesville High School.  An area resident his entire life, he was employed by the former Lukens Steel as an Electrician, retiring in 1982.  



Harold served honorably in the US Army from 1942 to 1945 during WWII.  He was a member of the Coatesville V.F.W., Post #287.  He was a Past Master of the Brandywine Goddard Lodge, #383 of Coatesville.



He was a Baptist by faith.



He is survived by three children: Gary Swisher, husband of Rose, of Coatesville, Douglas Swisher of Texas and Mary Jane Rothermel of Perkasie, PA; two grandchildren and three great, grandchildren.



The Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, January 5, 2011 at 11 a.m. at the Wilde Funeral Home, 434 Main St., Parkesburg, followed by interment in the Hephzibah Baptist Cemetery of East Fallowfield.  Family and friends are invited to attend the viewing, from 10 until 11 AM.
