Gerald Lynn "Bub" Smith, Jr., 24, of Parkesburg, passed away on Thursday, June 6, 2013. He was the beloved son of Susan M. Cazillo of Parkesburg and Gerald L. Smith Sr. of Columbia, PA.
Bub was a 2007 graduate of Octorara High School. He was employed by Pinnacle Stone Products of Parkesburg as a Stonecutter.
Bub was an avid fisherman, hard worker, devoted father, son, brother, nephew, grandson, cousin and friend. His smile could light up a room and he will be greatly missed by all that knew and loved him.
He is survived, in addition to his parents, by his daughter, Gianna Jeffers-Smith and son, Gabriel Jeffers; siblings, Jennifer Cazillo of Parkesburg, Jordan Cazillo of Parkesburg and half sister, Megan Taylor of York; maternal grandfather, Robert Cazillo, Sr. of Parkesburg; and paternal grandmother, Thelma Smith of Columbia.
The Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday, June 11th, 2013 at 12 noon at the Wilde Funeral Home, 434 Main St., Parkesburg, followed by interment in the Upper Octorara Cemetery. Visitation from 10am until 12.
In lieu of flowers, checks can be made out to "Gerald Smith Jr." and sent to Citadel Bank, 4051 West Lincoln Highway, Parkesburg, PA 19365, where a fund will be created for his children.

I knew bub from my buddy david and my uncil chuck.he was a good man and father. And a fuuny guy. He had some anger issues but under that tuff shell there was a nice caring pearson who would do anything for anyone. My prars are sent out to the cazillo family and the smiths and his friends he will be missed my many and never forgotten RIP BUB

I did not know Bub, but it is my understanding that he was a good ole boy who liked to have fun and was a tremendous help at Uncle Bob's after Aunt Betty passed. The few times I met him, he seemed to be the tough guy who dearly loved his mother. Many times it these so called tough guys who fall the hardest! Know that my prayers are with y'all and that Bub is safely home with others we dearly loved and that he rest safely in the arms of God.

We are so saddened to hear this unimaginable news
and are keeping all of you in our prayers.
With the help of the Lord and you, his loving and
supportive family, Bub overcame challenges and
unfair circumstances. He told me numerous times,
"I don't know how I would have gotten through it
without God. I know if I keep sticking with Him,
He will make everything okay." A few times we talked
about the promise in 2nd Corinthians 5:17- "If any man
be in Christ, he is a NEW CREATION, the old has GONE,
THE NEW HAS COME!" He would want all who loved and knew
him to know the God who changed his life and brought good
out of every difficult experience.
We will think of him with the smell of freshly cut grass and
talk of spending an afternoon at the fishing hole. He never
shied away from hard work and was there countless times to
help family and friends. His big heart and easygoing jokes
made this world a brighter place. The memories we have
will bring peace and joy until we see you again- we love
and miss you Bub!

Bub was always one of my favorite friends of my children. He was always respectful,kind and helpful. I will always remember the day he came into the library and said to me " I'm home Cheryl,and Khori and I have finally realized what you always told us" Follow God"and you willl be okay.From that day forward I saw the changes he was making.
