Mrs.Berkeihiser, Kim and family. I am so saddened to hear of the passing of Mr. Berk. I have tears in my eyes as I am typing this. I have gotten so used to seeing him on a regular basis here at the hospital. This breaks my heart. Please know my thoughts and prayers are with all of you. If the service was not private, I would surely come and pay my respects to you all in person. The girls here in registration are all at a loss. They too, would like you to know you are in their thoughts. If there is anything I can do, please don't hesitate to let me know. He just brightened my day the days he would come here! Give him a hug from me!!

Lucy, Pam, Kenny and Kim,
So sorry to hear of Ken's passing; I'm sure he is finally at peace. Growing up in Westwood our families paths would cross often...from Pam and Pam riding horses to Mr. Berkeihiser coaching me in Midget League. We will always have great memories of the times we shared. With Sincere Condolences the DANIELS FAMILY.

I was very sad to hear of Big Kenny's passing today, and since I hadn't seen mention of it, I wanted to share about his tenure as coach of the Westwood Midget League baseball team. I can still remember my first tryout. (Yes, it was a time when kids had to earn a roster spot, and nobody was guarenteed a trophy.) The man terrified me, frankly, but I made that team, and played for 3 years for Coach Berk.

He drilled us hard, and taught us solid fundamentals. We played great defense, and were always reafdy to play. And we learned how to win. We lost to The Patton Brothers in the Championship my first year, and we never lost again in the next two years. I'm guessing Mrs. Berk can confirm this, as she was scorekeeper for every game.

When you got a compliment from Coach Berk, it really meant something. Next to my Dad, he probably taught my more about how to play the game than any other coach I ever had.
