Adele C. Flamminio, "Babci"

PrintPrint

Adele C. Flamminio, "Babci", 81, of Coatesville, died on Thursday August 5, 2010 at the Brandywine Hospital. She was the widow of the late Ralph P. Flamminio who died in 1986. Born on November 29, 1928 in Coatesville, she was the daughter of the late Henrietta and Joseph Grabowski.
Adele was employed at the Coatesville Record as a proof reader until she and Ralph were married in 1950.

Adele had a great love for the beach, in particular watching her great grandson discover the beauty of the Jersey shore. She could be counted on to "pick the ponies" on Derby Day, solve the jumble in the paper and catch you up on the soaps. To know her was to love her and she loved everyone she knew. Adele was a devoted Catholic and it is her faith that will comfort her family through this very sad time.

Adele was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She is survived by her daughter Karen Flamminio of Brigantine, N.J., son James Flamminio also of Brigantine, granddaughter Tera, wife of Philip Brady, great grandson Owen Peter all of Thorndale and one sister Genevieve Arasin of West Chester, PA.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, August 11, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. from Our Lady of the Rosary Church, 80 S. 17th Ave. Coatesville, PA followed by interment at St. Stanislaus Kostka Cemetery, Coatesville, PA. Family and friends are also invited to attend the viewing at the church from 9:00 a.m. to the time of the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Our Lady of the Rosary Church at the above address.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the Wilde Funeral Home of Parkesburg.

Condolences

Karen, Jimmy, Tara & family,

Aunt Del was a special lady and although I will miss her dearly I am happy that she is now in peace. I will cherish my memories of her always. I found this Poem and wanted to share it with you.

May God Ease Your Pain,
When God created memories,
He had the sweetest reason --
To comfort us and bring us peace
throughout each changing season...

So, in our times of sorrow,
we may look beyond the pain
And begin to trace the beauty
of the rainbow through the rain.

I’m here if you need me.

Love,
Maxine

Aunt Del was very special to me as was Uncle Ralph. I remember when I lived with them so I could work and go to Bryland Beauty School while finishing high school.

Skip and I will always remember her smile and her hearty laugh. She could light up a room with her smile.

Jimmy and Karen we are sorry for your loss but we know that your Mom is with her Lord.

We regret that we can not make the funeral, we will be out of state at that time, but you will be in our thoughts and prayers.

Love Skip and JoAnn

Jimmy, Karen, Tera and Family,

I am so sorry for the loss of such a wonderful person. I remember Aunt Del as the happy, smiling woman she was everytime I saw her. I always looked forward to getting a yearly Christmas and Birthday card from her signed from the whole family. I remember her laugh, her smile and her genuine caring nature. I know it is a HUGE loss for your family, but she will be in heaven watching all of you and waiting for the day that you are all reuinited again.

I am going to try to make it to the viewing in the morning, but we are leaving tomorrow for vacation so I don't think I will be able to make the service in the afternoon. Please know that I send my condolences and I am truly sorry for your loss.

Dear Karen and Family,

My thoughts and prayers go out to you and your family.
I was sorry to read about the passing of your mother.

Two weeks ago, believe it or not, you were on my mind. I tried to search for you on Facebook, but then did a Google search and ended up reading about your father's passing and his very full life.

When I returned from vacation I was surprised to read about your mother.

I will keep you and your family in my prayers over the days and weeks to follow. May the Lord bring you peace and comfort when your heart hurts and tears flow...

Most sincerely,
LuAnn Stern Glaister

Dear Karen and Jimmy Flamminio,
We were so sorry to hear about Mom,she was one
great person,as well as friend of our entire family.Mrs.Flamminio meant so
very much to all of us as kids in the hood of C-ville.Karen you were my dear
friend all through school, and little Jimmy,I felt sorry for ,so I always
spared him of my Notorious "KO-KO" Butt. All of my boyz got it and felt it,but
little Jimmy was always my main motor scotter,as well as Porky, who I always
refrained from that crushing Ko Ko Butt. They were always special to me,and
when anyone picked on either of them,The Original "BIG" "E" would
interveine, with that Ko-Ko Butt, and boy it hurt,as any of the fools who
received it,they will tell you it was brutal.
Remember Little Jimmy, when I won the two ping pong tournaments, one against
little mousie Luskey, the other against my cousin Andy Hillman. Also Chester
Valley Swim club,as undefeated Champions, against all of those fools who
attemted to beat us.Guy Griswald made champions, true champions.Mike Randler
did to,but turned out to be a turncoat,going to Wagontown,that still couldn't
touch us.God bless all of you for always being there for me,as not only my
friends, but as family as well.Yuor Mother is in gods hands now, with his
Angels, guiding her to everlasting peace. From our family to yours, our
sincerest condolences.
with all Of Our Devoted love,we will be there for you,
