Elynor R. Sperber was born on May 3rd 1922 at home in Hoboken, New Jersey. She passed away peacefully on September 21 2012.
Elynor spent her early years living in northern New Jersey and working at various jobs in New York City. On July 8th 1950 she married Andrew G. Sperber (Sept. 22 1919 – Feb. 18 1983). In the late 1950’s they moved to Pennsylvania and raised two sons.
For all her years living in Pennsylvania Elynor was a New York City girl at heart. She never lost her New York accent when she spoke and was never at a loss for words. She loved reading, any newspaper and especially the New York Times, The New Yorker Magazine and mystery novels in particular. Elynor was an avid knitter and enjoyed fashion and talking about politics. Many pets came through the home over the years. Her last companion was a cat simply named Kitty.
Throughout her life she was a very supportive wife, mother, grandmother and great- grandmother.
Elynor was the youngest of 8 siblings along with her twin sister Evelynn R. Baycich (May 3 1922- Jan. 29 2006). Surviving family members include her sons; Andrew G. Jr. and Mark J. Sperber, Andrew’s wife Vicki Simpson-Sperber, grandsons Kevin, Craig, Andrew G. III. and, great-grandson Dylan Sperber.
The family would like to invite friends to honor and celebrate Elynor’s life at a gathering at Wilde Funeral Home 434 Main Street, Parkesburg, PA 19365 the evening of Thursday October 4, 2012 from 6 - 8pm.

Our Condolences
We are very sorry for your loss Andy, Mark and all of the family. Eleanor was most definitely full of life and things to say. I always got a kick out of hearing her stories, her critique on my fashion sense, and all of the things in life that we both appreciated together. Even though I am no longer a "Sperber", I was first introduced to her when I was just 16 years old. She seemed to be pleased to find a teenager who had an appreciation and knowledge of art, antiques, fashion and the love of good old NYC! I miss her knitted sweaters (some I shrunk accidentally while attempting to wash them instead of dry clean, especially since I didn't even know of a dry cleaner in the area until I met her since I was new to the area at that time myself). She has done a lot for myself and my son, her only great-grandson, Dylan Sperber (now 18 and in college!). Before he was even born, she had his first Christmas outfit entirely knitted, and tons of outfits, sweaters, hats, scarves, etc. I still have a few in a box. She a was strong willed, vivacious woman and that should always to be admired and remembered. She will be missed. My sincere condolences to the entire family. Sincerely, Paige

My most sincere sympathy~
Dear Mark,
I am so very sorry for your loss. Your mother clearly was a darling, strong and funny lady; although I didn't know her, I felt like I knew her through your stories. Mark, you were a blessing to your mother -- you were a devoted and loving son, and I pray that you will be comforted by your memories that will last forever. I found a touching quote that I'd like to share, "Death leaves a heartache no one can heal, love leaves a memory no one can steal." (from a headstone in Ireland)
You are in my thoughts and prayers~
Kelly
