Charles I. "Chick" Dunlap, 87, of West Caln Twp., went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, March 22, 2012. He was the widower of Elizabeth A. "Betty" Dunlap with whom he shared 51 years of marriage at the time of her passing on November 8, 1999. Born, May 9, 1924 in Coatesville, he was the son of the late George F., Sr. and Roberta Buck Dunlap.

He was a 1942 graduate of the former Scott High School and he proudly served in the US Navy during World War II.

Chick was self employed in the family business, started by his father, Dunlap Builders of Wagontown having built many of the homes and sites in the Wagontown and West Caln area retiring in 1989.



He was a member of the Wagontown Union Chapel which he attended all his life and over the years, he had served on the Board of Church Council and Usher Team. He was a Charter member of the Wagontown Fire Co., and a member of the Brandywine Goddard #383 Masonic Lodge.

He enjoyed sports and in particular baseball, having played softball in community and church leagues in his earlier years and he enjoyed following the Phillies each season.



Chick is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Carolyn D. Robinson and her husband Randall of W. Brandywine Twp., two granddaughters; Lisa R. Howard and husband Ernie of East Fallowfield and Lorrie A. Robinson of Newtown Square, two great granddaughters, Lauren E. and Abigail G. Howard and his twin brother, J. Gordon Dunlap. He was preceded in death by two siblings, Alice I. Miller and George F. Dunlap, Jr.



Funeral services will be held on Tuesday evening, March 27, 2012 at 7:00 pm from the Wagontown Union Chapel, 469 W. Kings Hwy., Wagontown, PA with a viewing from 5:45 pm to the time of the service. Interment will be be private.



In his memory, donations may be made to the Wagontown Chapel, P.O. Box 200, Wagontown, PA 19376 or the Wagontown Fire Co., P.O. Box 185, Wagontown, PA 19376.

Very sorry to hear of Mr. Dunlap's passing. While I never met your father, I have heard many wonderful stories from Robby over the years.
