Jessica Lynne Leavitt Smedley, 29, of Coatesville, passed away on Friday, October 28 at the Brandywine Hospital.  


 

Born on Monday, July 26, 1982, she was the beloved daughter of Carol (Weygandt) Smedley of Coatesville and Paul A. Leavitt of Thorndale, and the beloved adopted daughter of Gerald K. Smedley.  

 

She graduated from Coatesville High School in the class of 2000, and attended the PA College of Art and Design in Lancaster for three years.  

 

Jessica was a D.J. and was known as "D.J. Skippy."  

 

She was a member of the Hopewell United Methodist Church.

 

She is survived, in addition to her parents, by her three siblings, Sarah Smedley of Coatesville and Kattie and Corey Leavitt of Thorndale; her maternal grandparents, Kay and Peter Weygandt of West Chester, and paternal grandparents, Peggy DeAngelo of Thorndale and Dorothy Smedley of Downingtown.  

 

The funeral service will be held on Sunday, November 6, 2011 at 3 PM at the Hopewell Methodist Church, 852 Hopewell Rd, Downingtown, PA 19335.  Family and friends are invited to attend the viewing from 1 until 3 PM at the Church.  Interment will be private.

Flowers will be accepted for her funeral service at the church.

I am so very sorry, Jess was a great person and I will miss her . You are all in my thoughts and my daily prayers. If you need anything please let me know. My mother, and daughters Laura, Christina ,and Courtney send you their thoughts and prayers also. And little Hayleigh may have been too little to remember Jess - but I do and Jess was so good with her.
