Joan Emma Lichtner, 82, of New Holland, PA, passed away at her residence on Wednesday, January 3, 2024. She was the beloved wife of Thomas L. Lichtner with whom she shared 23 years of marriage. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Garth Scott, Sr. in 1986. Born in Montgomery County, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of the late Roy Jensen and Loretta Hackenburg Jensen. 

Joan was a 1959 graduate of the Springfield High School where she was involved with dancing and field hockey. She was employed, for 25 years, by the Coatesville Area School District as an administrative assistant.

Before moving to New Holland, Joan was an active member of the Sandy Hill Mennonite Church. She enjoyed quilting and her and her husband Tom enjoyed their pet dog Tyler.

She is survived, in addition to her husband, by five children; Garth Scott and wife Edith of Philadelphia, PA, Linda Wenk of Thorndale, PA, Luke Scott and wife Carol of Malvern, PA, Kim Moskel and husband Michael of Sadsbury, PA and Heather Burns and husband Michael of Exton, PA, two stepsons; Thomas Christopher Lichtner and wife Candice of Morgantown, PA and Erich Lichtner and wife Dawn of Glenmoore, PA, 16 grandchildren, six great grandchildren and one sister Loretta Jensen of Texas.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, January 9, 2024 at 11:00 AM at the Garden Spot Village Chapel, 433 S. Kinzer Ave., New Holland PA. Family and friends are also invited to attend the viewing at the Chapel from 10:00 AM to the time of the service. Interment will follow at the Sandy Hill Mennonite Cemetery, Coatesville, PA.

Oh Momma Sott , I loved spending time at your house  as a teen. I am not sure how you put up with Heater and my antics at times. You were the sweetest ladies if know . You always welcomed me into your home with open arms. RIP in Paradise
