John W. Hilton, Jr., 76, of Honey Brook, passed away on December 19, 2009 at home surrounded by his family after a long courageous battle with emphysema. He was the beloved husband of Marian Hilton, with whom he shared 59 years of marriage.

Born in Sadsburyville, Pa, John was the son of the late John Hilton Sr. and Stella Phillips Hilton. An area resident his entire life, he was employed by Lukens Steel of Coatesville for 27 years, retiring 18 years ago and was a member of the Lukens Guild. John loved all types of lawn work, gardening, and spending time with his family.

He is survived, in addition to his wife, by three daughters: Bev, wife of Martin Stern of Honey Brook, Debbie, wife of Mark Lutz of Birdsboro, Karen (Suzy) wife of Stewart Senior of Honey Brook; four grandchildren, Marianne, wife of Jess Moore and Chris, Mike and Nikki Senior; three great grandchildren, Shane Stern, Lucas Moore, and Briana Moore.

John was the last of his immediate family. He was predeceased by his parents, a brother, Emory Hilton, and a sister, Dorothy Pacana.

The Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, December 23, 2009 at 11 a.m. at the Wilde Funeral Home, 434 Main St., Parkesburg, followed by interment in the Romansville Methodist Cemetery. Family and friends are invited to attend the viewing, which will be held at the Funeral Home from 10 until 11 AM.
