44 Years

Yolanda Mack, 44, of Coatesville, passed away on Saturday, August 6th, under the care of West Chester Hospital. Loving mother to Savon Ellis and Lawrence Mack. Devoted sister to Brian Mason.

Born in Lancaster, she was the daughter of Margaret Mason and the late John McDonald.

Affectionately known as “Londa,” she graduated from Octorara High School in 1996. During her high school years, she participated in and graduated from the Upward Bound Program through Lincoln University. She continued her love for learning, graduating from Delaware Community College with an Associate’s Degree in Business Administration. She would go on to receive multiple certificates including her Dental Hygiene certification and Paralegal from the PJA School in Upper Darby. Londa put her education to good use, working as a Dental Hygienist prior to her career at Beckett & Lee, where she worked as a Paralegal. She also worked as a dispatcher for Penske and a customer service representative at Bank of America before finding her career as an account representative for Vanguard.

Yolanda’s faith was the foundation of who she was and how she utilized her time. She was a committed member of Mt. Zion AME Church in Atglen, PA-- the church where she grew up and participated in programs such as Youth Sunday School and YPD.

Londa was devoted to caring for her family and close friends, recently celebrating the graduation of her son, Savon. The life of every family event, Londa supported no matter how big or small, she celebrated, partied, and loved spending time with her loved ones. If there was play (especially Tyler Perry), or a good gospel concert, Londa was always front and center. She enjoyed old school R&B music; old movies-- especially Love and Basketball, which was her favorite. An avid reader, she would read just about anything, including poetry. Londa enjoyed reading the V.C. Andrews books with her late grandmother, Blanche, and her cousin, Dina. Londa would often reach out to her family via funny Facebook posts (cousin roll call), old family photos, and random but on-time, meaningful, and deep conversations. She had a love for the water and spent many summers vacationing in Ocean City, Maryland.

Yolanda is survived by her two sons, Savon Ellis, and Lawrence Mack; her mother, Margaret Mason; her brother, Brian Mason, of Coatesville; her stepchildren, Edward Mack Jr., Kyra Mack, and Branden Mack, all of Coatesville, and Owen Mack of West Chester; her sisters, Felicia Taylor and Johnna Starkey; her brother, John McDonald Jr., and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, friends, and her beloved dog, Roscoe, who will continue to extend her memory and legacy.

She is preceded in death by her father, John McDonald; her brother, John Taylor, and her grandmother, Blanche Mason.

The funeral service will be held at 11:00 am at Parkesburg United Methodist Church, located at 411 Main Street in Parkesburg, with a viewing taking place beginning at 9:00 am until the time of the service. Interment will follow at Mt. Zion AME Church Cemetery in Atglen.
