William L. "Billy" Jones

William L. "Billy" Jones, 58, of Cochranville, died on Saturday, January 23, 2010 at the Brandywine Hospital. He was the beloved husband of Shelia L. Turner Jones, with whom he shared 40 years of marriage. Born in West Grove, he was the son of the late William O. and Frances M. Walsh Jones.

Bill was an area resident all his life and a 1968 graduate of Octorara High School. He worked as a trained electrician for 40 years and was last employed by Tasty Baking, Inc. of Oxford. Besides spending time with his family, Bill enjoyed drag racing at Cecil County Drag Way.

He is survived, in addition to his wife, by one daughter; Tracey, wife of Sidney Austin of Cochranville, two grandchildren Steven and Jasmine Austin, three siblings; Betty Appleby of West Chester, Catherine Sue Sassa of Ronks and David Jones of East Fallowfield. He was preceded in death by a brother Robert.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, January 27, 2010 at 11:00am from the Wilde Funeral Home, 434 Main St. Parkesburg, followed by interment at the Faggs Manor Cemetery, Cochranville. Family and friends are also invited to attend the viewing from 10:00am to the time of the service.

Pat and I were very sad to hear that Bill has passed. He and I worked closely at CFM for quite some time and had many happy hours flying around during our off hours. Pat, Shelia, Bill and I also enjoyed some great times and we have missed them since we moved to Texas. We send our best wishes and conedolences to Shelia and Tracey. We will be praying for them.
