W. Earl Freeman, 96, of Unionville, passed away on Monday, November 10, 2014 at the Heatherwood Retirement Community where he had resided for four years. He was the husband of the late Sara Elizabeth Gray Freeman who died in 2013. They shared 66 years of marriage. Born in Green Valley, Chester County, he was the son of the late Havard and Ida L. Thompson Freeman. 

Earl was a County resident all his life and a 1936 graduate of the Unionville High School. He later continued his education at Goldey Beacom College. He was employed as an accountant, for over 30 years, by the Pyrites Company in Wilmington, DE. 

Since 1960, he was a faithful member of the 1st Baptist Church of Kennett Square where he served as Sunday School Superintendent, Deacon and member of the choir. Earl loved music and he was an accomplished musician learning to play various string and brass instruments throughout his life.
He is survived by four children; Ronald of Romansville, Paul and wife Diana of Avondale, David and wife Cindy of Newark, DE and Joyce George of Morgantown, 10 grandchildren and three great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his son Dennis, son-in-law Thomas George and two siblings; Wade Freeman and Helen Regener. 

Funeral services will be held on Friday, November 14, 2014 at 11am from the 1st Baptist Church of Kennett Square, 415 W. State St., Kennett Square, PA 19348 followed by interment at the Unionville Cemetery. Viewing at the church from 10 to 11am. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in his memory to the 1st Baptist Church at the above address.
