Percy D. Tinson

Percy D. Tinson, 92, of Coatesville, passed away on Tuesday, September 18, 2018 at the Brandywine Hall of West Chester. He was the beloved husband of the late Maddie Spaulding Tinson, who he married in 1952. Born in Downingtown, he was the son of the late Percy D. Tinson and Emily (Nugent) Tinson. 

Percy attended Downingtown High School and went on to pursue a career at Luken’s Steel where he served as a Foreman on the Track Gang. 

He served honorably in the US Navy for seven years, 

Percy is survived in addition to his wife by six children; Percy Tinson of Philadelphia, John Clayton Tinson of Philadelphia, Neal Tinson of Coatesville, Lorraine Morgan (Roosevelt) of Coatesville, Mary Toalton (Lawrence) of Coatesville, and Jacklyn C. Tinson. In addition to his children he is survived granddaughter Tina Nicholson, who was especially good to him, 27 grandchildren, and a host of great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins. 

He was preceded in death by three children; Norman Hooper, James Tinson, and Janet Nicholson: as well as two brothers; William Sweeney, Jr. and Arthur Tinson. 

A Funeral service will be held on Saturday September 22, 2018 at 11 AM from The Coatesville VA Chapel 1400 Blackhorse Hill Rd, Coatesville, PA 19320.  Friends and Family are invited to attend a visitation period from 9AM until the start of the service.
